The roof sits close enough to the water that everything on it has to survive salt. We used ballasted frames rather than fixings through the membrane, which keeps the waterproofing intact and means the whole array can be lifted if the roof is ever redone.
The inverter went on the north wall rather than the south, out of the afternoon sun. Inverters lose output when they get hot, and on this coast that is not a small effect in July.
A home battery was added because the household uses most of its electricity in the evening. Without it, a large share of the generation would have been exported at a fraction of what it is worth.
